Smartly gain your Google Ads certifications

There are eight certifications in Google Ads. They are:

  • Google Ads Search Certification
  • Google Ads Display Certification
  • Google Ads creative certification
  • Shopping Ads Certification
  • Google Ads Video Certification
  • Google Ads Apps Certification
  • Google Ads Measurement Certification
  • And Grow Offline Sales Certification.

And all of them are free of charge.

Each usually has 50 questions, most of which are multiple-choice and case-related, unlike the checked question in courses. They cover campaign types, targeting options, measurement and optimisation topics, etc.

You have 75 minutes to finish and can pass if you score 80% or higher. The system will automatically submit it if you can not complete it in this limited time. So Try to answer all before time’s up. Unlike Facebook certifications, Google Ads assessment has no proctor.

Google Ads certifications demonstrate that an individual understands the platform and can manage and optimise campaigns. And they also are benefits for your CV, which helps pull you out from applicants. In this article, I will list practical methods for obtaining these certifications.

  1. Take the one you can practise on your Google Ads Account first.

Start by familiarising yourself with the Google Ads platform and its features. You can do this by creating a Google Ads account and experimenting with creating different types of campaigns, such as search and display campaigns.

I started with the Google Ads Search certification because I have the sabrinablog website and could set campaigns for my website traffic. This can help me to have a solid understanding of how to create and manage search campaigns on Google Ads. Started by creating search campaigns in my own Google Ads account and experimenting with different targeting options, such as keywords and location targeting.

So, you should take the one you can practice first, which makes the certifications conquerable.

2. Learn all courses on Skillshop.

Study all the courses on Google Skillshop, and finish all the “Check your knowledge” questions. Remember to take notes, especially for those you make mistakes or need help understanding. Review them from time to time.

Additionally, you should review the Google Ads Learning Center, which provides helpful resources such as tutorials, best practices, and certification exam study materials.

3. Write a summary for every course content.

For each course, when you finish reading, try to write a summary for it, which helps you better understand and master all the content and strengthen your memory. In your summaries, try to make some examples or business stories. This step can help you get closer to the actual assessment, in which many case questions exist.

4. Get the knowledge check assessment.

Take the knowledge check assessment before taking the real evaluation. The step also helps to reinforce your knowledge once more.

After all the above, choose a quiet room and take the exams.

Once you pass, you can sign up for an account on Accredible and connect your Skillshop account. Then you can review your certificates.

In conclusion, obtaining Google Ads certifications can be a valuable asset for anyone working in digital marketing, especially for those who want to apply for a job in this section. By following the practical methods outlined in this article, you can gain a solid understanding of the Google Ads platform and confidently pass the certification exams. Remember to start by familiarising yourself with the platform, reviewing the Google Ads Learning Center, and practising with sample questions before taking the exams.

Wish you all good luck!
